HFC-134a CHILLER EXCEEDS ENERGY PERFORMANCE STANDARDS BY 35%, UPGRADEABLE TO HFO-1234ze

31 March 2018

A new range of variable-speed screw chillers, exceeds the European Ecodesign energy performance standards by 35%. Available with HFC-134a as refrigerant, the chiller is designed with the ability to be upgraded to A2L refrigerant HFO-1234zeE (GWP <1) while on-site.

With cooling capacities from 500 kW up to 1100 kW initially it achieves exceptional levels of seasonal efficiency and can exceed the European Ecodesign energy performance standards by 35%. The chiller has variable-speed screw compressors and fans, and optionally variable-speed pumps. It automatically adjusts the cooling capacity and water flow to match the needs of the building or process load variations. The result is optimal operation at both full load and part load, which significantly lowers energy consumption while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by up to 25% during its life cycle.

While the HFC-134a chiller range has been designed with the ability to be upgraded to HFO-1234zeE on site, a version designed exclusively for HFO-1234zeE will be available in 2018.
