Dear subscriber,
In this EFCTC February newsletter, we discuss the continue decrease in the average Global Warming Potential (GWP) of F-gases refrigerants and the different positions on the feasibility of the F-gas Regulation proposal. Regarding PFAS, we note the publication of the documents relative to the proposal for a universal REACH restriction of PFAS and the inclusion of applications that use certain F-gases. We also review the PFAS restriction process timeline and provide an update on EFCTC's Regulatory Management Option Analysis (RMOA) for F-gases. We proceed in this newsletter with the good news of The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) winning the prestigious Montreal Protocol prizes for addressing illegal or trade in ozone-depleting substances and fluorinated global warming substances controlled under the Montreal Protocol and its Kigali Amendment. EFCTC is also active in the fighting against the illegal trade of F-gases by organizing seminars with EU officials. Below you can read about the first event that took place in Prague. Finally, we report on several range of HFCs/HFOs/HCFOs used for different heat pump requirements.
Do you want to learn more about EFCTC’s list of upcoming events relating to fluorocarbons? You can find them at the bottom of the newsletter and on the fluorocarbons.org website. Thank you for your continued interest in EFCTC.
