Dear subscriber,
In this EFCTC July newsletter, we first highlight a benefit of F-Gases, which is the reduction in transport refrigeration emissions using HFC-410A and R-452A systems. Read more about these benefits at https://www.refrigerantanswers.eu/benefits-of-f-gases/ Also in this edition, we review some technical and scientific reports on F-Gases. This comprises a paper reporting on the monitoring of short chain PFAS, including TFA in sources of German drinking water and key messages from the Montreal Protocol TEAP report on the continued provision of information on energy efficient and low-global-warming-potential technologies. We also discuss the HFC contribution (1.18%) in 2021 to the climate warming influence of greenhouse gases (GHG) and report on a paper that discusses the contribution of short-lived climate pollutants to global warming. This looks at the implications of controlling long-lived gases (CO2) and short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) in the drive to minimise the increase in global warming. SLCPs are black carbon, methane, tropospheric ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). Interested in EFCTC’s list of upcoming events relating to fluorocarbons? You can find them listed at the bottom of the newsletter and on the fluorocarbons.org website. Thank you for your continued interest in EFCTC. Marta Siddu – EFCTC Manager
