Manuals provided with equipment, that requires labelling, will need to contain certain information to comply with the F-Gas Regulation. Similarly any Safety Data Sheets provided with F-Gas containers will need to contain similar information
Manuals and Safety Data Sheets providing information about the ownership, operation or servicing of the labelled products and equipment and included at the point of placing on the market shall include the following information: The words ‘Contains fluorinated greenhouse gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol’ The abbreviated name(s) for the F-Gas, already used by industry.
The global warming potential (GWP) of each covered gas or blend in the equipment, using the value included in the F-Gas Regulation. For blends of F-Gases and HCFCs, it is only the GWP of the F-gas that needs to be stated. Other blend components (eg HCs) need to be included in the calculation of the GWP. See table for GWPS of F-Gases.
Manuals for equipment shall, include the words ‘The fluorinated greenhouse gases in this equipment may not be vented to the atmosphere’. For Safety Data Sheets for containers the following words should be included ‘The fluorinated greenhouse gases in containers may not be vented to the atmosphere”.
For refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump equipment, containing F-Gases in insulating foam, manuals shall include the abbreviated name(s) for the F-Gas, already used by industry and the global warming potential (GWP) of each covered gas or blend, using the value included in the F-Gas Regulation. See table for GWPS of F-Gases.
