Under Article 22, the Commission has the power to adopt the delegated acts that are referred to in Articles 12(15) on labelling requirements and 21(1) on the update of Annexes I, II & IV, for five years from 10 June 2014. This can be extended for further periods of five years, unless the European Parliament or the Council opposes such extensions. They can also revoke the power.
A delegated act adopted pursuant to Articles 12(15) and 21(1) shall enter into force only if no objection has been expressed either by the European Parliament or the Council within a period of two months of notification of that act to the European Parliament and the Council or if, before the expiry of that period, the European Parliament and the Council have both informed the Commission that they will not object. That period shall be extended by two months at the initiative of the European Parliament or of the Council.
